An Australian owned company that loves to create fun things for both big and small inquisitive minds are looking for a full time Purchasing Officer Trainee to join their growing team.

The company supplies a range of over 1,500 exciting and innovative toys and gifts, STEM items and garden products across over 10 brands. The business operates both a wholesale business operating from Kingsgrove – selling to customers that include toy shops, museums, large chain stores and pharmacies; and a retail business that includes a fast-growing retail website business and a retail outlet in Crows Nest.

This role is a great first step towards becoming a product buyer and extensive exposure will be provided to ecommerce / website product ranging. The position will be based in Kingsgrove (within 10 min walk of train station).

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be committed to the term of the traineeship,
• Be committed to completing a Certificate III or IV in Purchasing or Procurement
• Have a drivers licence or willingness to get a drivers licence 
• Have strong excel skills
• Be hardworking 
• Be self-responsible
• Have completed CareerGate 3 – General Aptitude Assessment

A day in the role will look like:

• Assisting in ordering stock
  • Reordering stock from reports
  • Maintaining a 90% stock in stock 90% of time 
  • Correcting pricing, checking margin
  • Receiving stock
  • Putting stock away
  • Troubleshooting anomalies
• Transferring stock
  • Running reports and sending stock to the store
  • Organise delivery of stock to the store
  • Maintaining max min levels on stock range so correct stock is  at the retail store at all times
• Assisting with the Website Range
  • Assisting in maintenance of stock on website so new items are uploaded and old items are pulled down,
  • Ensuring SEO is on site for all items
  • 5 pictures are loaded for each item
• Assisting New products
  • Helping get full product information excel filled out by suppliers
  • Chase copy and images
