A family-owned excavation and concreting specialist company based in Mona Vale is seeking a full-time concreting/formwork apprentice to join their team.

Some skills the successful applicants will learn are:

• use concreting tools and equipment,
• erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on ground,
• erect and dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls,
• plan and organise work,
• carry out levelling operations,
• carry out measurements and calculations,
• read and interpret plans and specifications and
• apply Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to obtain a truck licence and their qualifications/tickets to use other earthmoving equipment, the employer will provide training and support for this on the job.  They may also undertake some facets of landscape construction such as retaining walls, garden surrounds etc.

 Applicants must:

• Be committed to completing Certificate III in Concreting,
• Be dedicated to the Two year traineeship term,
• Have or be willing to obtain White Card,
• Drivers licence and own vehicle preferred (but not essential)
• Employer would prefer candidates from the Sydney Northern Beaches area,
• Be physically fit,
• Be capable of working in varying weather conditions,
• Be reliable,
• Work well in a team environment,
• Be able to take directions and
• Have completed CareerGate 3 – General Aptitude Assessment.
